Marina Skegin-Sipes is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in individual, couples, children, and family psychotherapy.  She maintains a private practice in Woodland Hills, California.  She received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in marital and family therapy, from the National University.  As a licensed therapist in the state of California, Marina had to complete 3000 hours of supervised clinical experience and passed two licensing exams. Marina is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

 


Marina is bilingual. In 1982, she and her family have moved to the United States from Russia. Her cultural background allows her to be culturally sensitive to others whom have come from other countries.

 

 

Marina has over 15 years of experience within the mental health field and has had great opportunity to work in many different settings and gain a tremendous amount of knowledge. During her years as a therapist she worked in the educational setting providing individual, group and family therapy, assisted school administrators and teachers by implementing behavioral modification in the classroom. She then worked in the in-patient and out-patient adult psychiatric settings providing wide range of services. After providing services to adults with severe mental health diagnosis, she had a great opportunity to work with adolescents in the residential setting and Family Preservation Program during which she was able to work closely with families, children, probation department, and department of children and family services. A large percentage of the population she has worked with suffering from a mental illness and a substance abuse problems. For over 10 years, Marina has been involved with MyTherapyNet.com, Online therapy services, providing clinical and crisis intervention services. In the past several years she was able to offer her knowledge and expertise by providing individual and group supervision of MFT interns, and Associate Social Workers.

 

 

Marina has a special interest personally in working with children and adolescents, families, couples, and Interfaith relationships.
